Anyone who works in an establishment that deals with food should have a basic understanding of the principles of food hygiene and safety. In industries such as catering and food delivery, it is essential that any food safety hazards can be identified and that waste is managed efficiently.

This Level 1 Food Hygiene and Safety Course is for employees who don’t handle food directly, but work in an environment where food is handled. Each training module is designed to address the introductory key elements of food hygiene and safety; from food hygiene and safety laws, to safety control measures, personal hygiene and food safety hazards.

By the end of the course you’ll have an excellent understanding of how to ensure food safety in the workplace and how to comply with food health and safety legislation. Please note that if your job requires you to handle food, then you will need to take a Level 2 Food and Hygiene Safety Course in addition to this one.



This Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering Course covers the essential rules and legal responsibilities that every professional working in the catering or hospitality sector should know.

By law, anyone who handles food in a professional environment must be aware of the food hygiene best practices, in order to prevent food contamination and bacteria from spreading in the workplace. These include storing food correctly, keeping ingredients at the right temperature and looking after your own personal hygiene.

This introductory training course includes expert industry material, video content and interactive demos, designed for managers or supervisors, such as restaurateurs, hoteliers and kitchen chefs. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll feel confident to utilise your new skills and set an excellent standard of health in your professional environment.

I’m one of the head chefs at my local restaurant so food hygiene is obviously a really important part of my job. I know my stuff when it comes to this field, but it’s always good to refresh what you know. I’ve done a few similar courses before but none of them were as useful and extensive as this one.
